  Anyone Celebrating Halloween this Year???

  i started yesterday.

  took the kids (they were both princesses) and my nephew to 3 different events.

  got tons of candy and the kids had a blast.. .

  Our kids are all young adults now . My husband and I do the holidays for our own joy . He is a very technical /mechanical type of person and loves the challenge of coming up with something creative . He began two yrs ago designing the computer music light show just because he saw some on youtube and thought it looked cool . He taught himself how to program and made all the electronic boards to run the shows . We just like to have fun I guess, and we enjoy watching others bring their kids by to enjoy what he has put together . Last night some people came by with a hay-rack filled with kids from a party to see the show .We came out in costumes and they all hooped and hallored ,it was just fun . For me I felt being a witness really sucked joy out of my life ....I am making up for that now .

  OH YES ! We went to our annual Halloween party last night . My husband won 1st place for his homemade costume seen in the video . We also do a computer aided music light show in our yard for Halloween .

  rode over to the farmer's market with a couple of neighbors, nice women, seem sensible.

  the driver stopped in the middle of a block and stared at the coca-cola truck that was parked there.

  I had a friend at work that claimed to see dead people . She swore her husband could see them too . She also told me that my critical attitude toward the spirit realm is what makes it so hard for the spirits to come through ..... Soooo if you DON'T see dead people it is me you should thank !

  Another woman I work with told me hummingbirds ride on the backs of geese during migration ......that's the only way those tiny little birds can go so far away

  For what it's worth, this is my take on the AGM

  as i was leaving the kh where i watched the meeting, i overheard several conversations, all to the effect that"what a great bunch of guys the gb is.

  " the sense of humor among them, the naturalness and ease they had while speaking, etc.. for that matter, i too, was impressed at how like able they seem to be and, believe it or not, the 3 1/2 hours went by fairly quickly, thank god!

  but as i think about it, i'm concluding that that was the main goal of the wide viewing of this event: to assure the rank and file that the gb, the men who are in charge of god's household, are a great bunch of guys.

  I have lived with those types of JW's my whole life . Unfortunately it took nearly a lifetime to learn what was behind the facade of niceness . Outlaw pegged it perfectly !!

  I know better now ,and know to tread carefully among the wolves in sheep covering .

  got caught at the supermarket (in between the martini olives and snack crackers ) with several bottles of hard liquor in my basket along with some red licorice by a sister that has known me for years.

  still respects me, not knowing that i am in full fade mode, or at least not recognizably knowing.

  anyway, when she sees me, her eyes get all big and she heads in my direction, nearly ramming my liquor laden cart with her vegan oriented basket.. "hey sop, how are you doing?

  I made a huge mistake

  its been a tough 6 months for my jw hubby and myself.

  next saturday is our anniversary.

  Sadly it sounds like he is 'training ' you quite well to accept his cultish behavior as normal . Are YOU happy with that ? If you want to wear or purchase a cross necklace ,do you feel 'free' to do so after this ? Does he give your feelings and wishes as much respect as you give his ? Things to think about ....

  Colorado Flooding Near My House

  here are some picture in my neighborhood.. our house was not affected.

  there is possibly more flash flooding expected tonight.. in the picture below our house sits at the bottom right corner about 2 blocks out of frame.

  yesterday and tonight we are staying in another town with family.. .

  DAzed I didn't realize you lived in Longmont ! I am just sick over all the destruction that has occured in that area . Our son lives in NW Longmont .and called at noon to say there was a warning out to 1000 homes near MacIntosh Lake ( which is very close to him ) . He hasn't been able to reach work in Boulder since Thursday. I hear roads are begining to re-open ,but it also has been raining again all day today ... Hope your home remains safe as well as your family . The aerial views on YouTube from Denver 7 news are just very eye opening to how extensive this disaster really is .....it is going to take a long time to rebuild all that has been lost .esp. the small mountain towns . We usually visit Estes ,Lyons and near Jamestown every summer .

  "i'm perfect, you're doomed" by kyria abrahams, 2009, touchstone.. if you want a way to get people out of that horrible cult, easily, quickly and expeditiously, then here is how to do that.. i can say with a vote of confidence that anyone who reads this book will never and i mean never become a dub.

  dubs who read it (assuming they have at least one or two brain cells left) will run from their religion like flies on shit when you pour bleach on it and blow it up with dynamite.. toss away crisis of conscience, apocalypse delayed, 30 years a watchtower slave and all those other very nice books and read this one.

  i read those and all the other ones.

  I loved Kyria'a book ! One of those books that I actually did laugh out loud while reading . I get her sense of humor .
